There is no card field anywhere in the product. We do not collect, store, or process payment information from individual users at all, which is the simplest possible guarantee that you will not be charged by accident.
How the company is funded
Straight answer: eHelpLab is funded by its owners while it is being built, and the business model we are building toward is charging organizations that receive a high volume of applications for tools that keep their applicants informed. Their side of the product is a paid product. Your side of it is not, and is not planned to be.
We are telling you this in the plainest terms we can because "free consumer product" usually means the user is the inventory. That is the model we are specifically not building. The commitments in the next section are the ones that make that statement mean something, and they are the ones to hold us to.
If any of this changes in a way that affects what we do with your information, we will say so on this page before it happens rather than after, and any new use of your data would be a fresh choice you make rather than a default you inherit.
What we've ruled out
Three things that are permanently off the table, not deferred.
We will never charge you to see your own list
Your applications, dates, confirmation numbers, and notes stay readable and exportable regardless of anything else that changes about the product.
We will never sell or rent your information
Not your phone number, not your email, not where you applied, not to advertisers or data brokers or anyone else. This is not a launch promise with an expiry date.
We will never lock your data in
CSV export is free and always will be. If you want to leave, you leave with everything you put in.
One cost that isn't ours
We do not charge for alerts on either channel, but if you choose text, your mobile carrier may. Email alerts have no such cost and are the default — the account works entirely without a phone number, so if carrier charges are the concern, take email and skip the number. Every opt-in is off until you turn it on.
